"I first started using Tom last year to help relieve back pain, he has been extremely helpful and now he's supporting me with sprint and fitness training, whilst helping with any minor injuries. Can't recommend him and his team more highly."

"A month ago I had ITB issues with my knee and given that I couldn't even get through 2 miles I had given up hope on doing the London Marathon. Tom completely turned things around with brilliant advice on strengthening exercises and stretching. I only needed 3 sessions. I did 20 miles unscathed last week and now I am raring to take on the marathon. Top work."

"I went to Tom with a shoulder injury that had not improved for several months. Tom is very knowledgeable and quickly identified the issue and put me on a course of exercises that, in conjunction with a couple more sessions, steadily resolved the problem. I would highly recommend him."

"Spoke to Tom over the phone for advice on a shoulder injury before going to visit him. I had one appointment and was given a number of exercises to help with my injury. Within 3 weeks everything felt fine and I was back in the gym. Would recommend to any of my friends."

"Parinita was brilliant! Identified my knee problem immediately, used a range of equipment and exercises not only to strengthen my knee, but to maintain it and improve my running long-term."

"I've been to visit Tom twice with injuries. Both times he has been excellent, offering insight into the injuries, their causes and how to overcome them. With a programme of easy to follow exercises, stretches and general advice I was back out and running much sooner than I first feared."

"Excellent service! Sanchez is a true professional who helped me heal a previous injury. Highly recommend!"

"I had a great post-marathon recovery massage. Before I couldn't walk up or down stairs. However, after my session I could do both and was back running the next day. Highly recommend."

Assessment

Your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, goals, medical history and lifestyle before completing a thorough assessment. Initial appointments are typically 45 to 60 minutes, so there is time to do this properly.

Advice & Report

You get a clear explanation of your condition, treatment recommendations, and a report explaining it in simple language. Treatment may include manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisation, education and movement retraining.

Rehabilitation Plan

A personalised rehabilitation plan tailored to your goals and condition, reviewed at every visit. Follow-ups run 30 to 45 minutes. For anyone going back to sport we use structured programmes and return-to-sport testing before you are cleared.

Physiotherapy
questions, answered

Do I need a GP or Consultant referral?

No. You can book directly with us without a referral. Appointments can be booked online, allowing you to choose your preferred clinic, clinician and appointment time, or you can call us on 0333 121 6 121. If you are claiming through private health insurance, your provider may still require a GP referral, so check your policy first.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your physiotherapist will discuss your symptoms, goals, medical history and lifestyle before completing a thorough assessment. You will receive a clear explanation of your condition, treatment recommendations, a report explaining it in simple language, and a personalised rehabilitation plan.

How long are appointments?

Initial appointments are typically 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments are usually 30 to 45 minutes depending on your treatment needs. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and easy access to the area being assessed. Shorts are often helpful for lower limb injuries.

Where are your clinics based?

We have three clinics: Crouch End (Park Road Pools & Fitness, N8 8JN), UNTIL Marylebone (1 Orchard Street, W1H 6HJ), and Henley-on-Thames (Badgemore Park Golf Club, RG9 4NR). The same clinical team works across all three sites, so book whichever location works best for your day.

What conditions do you treat?

We commonly help with back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, hip pain, tendon pain, arthritis and joint pain, sports injuries, running injuries, muscle strains, ligament sprains, post-operative rehabilitation, ACL rehabilitation, and golf-related injuries. We also have clinicians that specialise in women’s health, Mummy MOT, concussion rehab, and return to play rehabilitation.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your injury, goals and recovery progress. Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you during your assessment, and we reassess at every visit rather than selling you a block of sessions up front.

Do you offer post-operative rehabilitation?

Yes. We regularly support patients following ACL reconstruction, knee replacement surgery, hip replacement surgery, shoulder surgery, meniscus surgery, tendon repairs, and fracture fixation procedures. We use a data driven approach in all our rehabilitation.

Can physiotherapy help me avoid surgery?

In many cases, yes. Physiotherapy can significantly improve pain, strength, movement and function, potentially reducing the need for surgery. We will give you an honest view of where you stand, and if we cannot get you better we will recommend the leading healthcare professionals in London who can.

Can you help me return to sport after injury?

Absolutely. We provide structured rehabilitation programmes and return-to-sport testing to help you return safely and confidently. We have an experienced team that have helped many athletes back to their sport using a multidisciplinary approach and data collection alongside our experience.

Which insurers do you accept?

We are recognised by 5 of the major UK health insurers: Bupa, Cigna, Vitality, WPA, and Simply Health. Your appointment can be paid through your insurer with prior authorisation; please obtain this before booking. We can also issue receipts for self-funded claims, and our reception team will help you submit them where useful.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

Yes. Appointment availability varies between clinics and clinicians, with evening and weekend appointments available on selected days. We even work Sundays.

What makes TA Physio different?

Our approach combines expert assessment, evidence-based treatment, personalised rehabilitation programmes and long-term injury management. We focus on helping you move better, recover fully and achieve lasting results, rather than simply reducing pain. We work with active adults, office workers, runners, golfers, footballers, tennis players, gym-goers, pregnant and postnatal women, post-operative patients, and elite athletes.
