What happens at your first physio appointment?

Initial appointments are typically 45 to 60 minutes. You leave with a clear explanation of your condition, treatment recommendations, a report explaining it in simple language, and a personalised rehabilitation plan.

Follow-ups run 30 to 45 minutes, and we reassess at every visit rather than selling you a block of sessions up front.

Physiotherapy can help to:

Settle pain and stop a flare-up returning

We find what is actually driving the pain, ease it with hands-on treatment, and give you a clear plan so it settles for good rather than flaring again in a month.

Recover from a sports or overuse injury

From a rolled ankle to a stubborn Achilles, we test it properly and load it in stages so the tissue rebuilds the capacity your sport genuinely demands.

Rebuild strength and confidence after injury or surgery

Graded rehab through Track Rehab restores the strength, range and control you lost, with every exercise filmed in clinic so your technique stays right between visits.

Treat the cause, not just the symptom

We look at how you move, train and work, so we fix what is actually driving the problem instead of chasing the pain around your body.

Get back to sport on measurable, objective terms

For sport returners we test limb symmetry and sport-specific drills before we clear you, so you know you are ready rather than just hoping.

I first started using Tom last year to help relieve back pain, he has been extremely helpful and now he's supporting me with sprint and fitness training, whilst helping with any minor injuries. Can't recommend him and his team more highly.

I went to Tom with a shoulder injury that had not improved for several months. Tom is very knowledgeable and quickly identified the issue and put me on a course of exercises that, in conjunction with a couple more sessions, steadily resolved the problem. I would highly recommend him.

Parinita was brilliant! Identified my knee problem immediately, used a range of equipment and exercises not only to strengthen my knee, but to maintain it and improve my running long-term.

FAQs

Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. UK physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners: you can book a private appointment directly via the Splose page linked from this site or by calling 0333 121 6 121. If you are using private health insurance, your provider may require a GP referral; check your policy. Self-funded patients never need a referral to see us.

How many sessions will I need?

Most acute injuries resolve within 3 to 6 sessions over 4 to 8 weeks. Chronic conditions like long-standing low back pain, recurring tendinopathy, or post-surgical rehab typically need 6 to 12 sessions. We discuss a realistic course of treatment at your first appointment and reassess at every visit. We are not interested in selling sessions you do not need.

What should I wear and bring to my appointment?

Loose, comfortable clothing that allows movement and lets us assess the area being treated: shorts for lower-limb problems, a vest top for shoulder or neck issues. We have private treatment rooms at every clinic and gowns where needed. Bring any relevant scan or test results, your insurer details if applicable, and any medications you are currently taking.

Which insurers do you accept?

We are recognised by most major UK health insurers including Bupa, Cigna, Vitality, WPA, and Simply Health. Your appointment can be paid through your insurer with prior authorisation: please obtain this before booking. We can also issue receipts for self-funded claims, and our reception team will help you submit them where useful.

How do you support me between sessions?

Every patient leaves with a written summary of the visit and a tailored home-exercise programme delivered through Track Rehab: a video-led app that lets you log compliance and message us with questions. Most progress between sessions; the in-clinic visit checks technique, escalates load, and adapts the plan to how you are responding.
