FAQ
Common
questions
Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?
No. UK physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners — you can book a private appointment directly via the Splose page linked from this site or by calling 0333 121 6 121. If you are using private health insurance, your provider may require a GP referral; check your policy. Self-funded patients never need a referral to see us.
How many sessions will I need?
Most acute injuries resolve within 3 to 6 sessions over 4 to 8 weeks. Chronic conditions like long-standing low back pain, recurring tendinopathy, or post-surgical rehab typically need 6 to 12 sessions. We discuss a realistic course of treatment at your first appointment and reassess at every visit. We are not interested in selling sessions you do not need.
What should I wear and bring to my appointment?
Loose, comfortable clothing that allows movement and lets us assess the area being treated — shorts for lower-limb problems, a vest top for shoulder or neck issues. We have private treatment rooms at every clinic and gowns where needed. Bring any relevant scan or test results, your insurer details if applicable, and any medications you are currently taking.
Which insurers do you accept?
We are recognised by most major UK health insurers including Bupa, Cigna, Vitality, WPA, and Simply Health. Your appointment can be paid through your insurer with prior authorisation — please obtain this before booking. We can also issue receipts for self-funded claims, and our reception team will help you submit them where useful.
How do you support me between sessions?
Every patient leaves with a written summary of the visit and a tailored home-exercise programme delivered through Track Rehab — a video-led app that lets you log compliance and message us with questions. Most progress between sessions; the in-clinic visit checks technique, escalates load, and adapts the plan to how you are responding.
